Chinese Mutual Aid Association

Chinese Mutual Aid Association is seeking an experienced bilingual ESL instructor for a part-time position (10-25 hours per week) in Uptown on the north side of Chicago. Weekday and weekend availability required.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Instruct ESL learners at various ESL levels using agency curriculum
• Create learning activities appropriate to student level and needs
• Monitor student progress through administration of standardized pre and post tests
• Maintain and submit records of student attendance and progress
• Assist with student recruitment, retention and transition efforts
• Participate in CMAA meetings and activities
• Attend professional development sessions and complete required training
• Other duties as assigned

Instructors must be fluent in English and any of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, or Cantonese.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  Requires minimum two years previous experience teaching ESL to adults. Bachelor’s Degree required, and professional references will be requested.
