Bart Moy

President

Board of Directors Chinese Mutual Aid

Bart Moy has dedicated over three decades to strengthening the relationship between the City of Chicago and its diverse communities. Appointed by Mayor Richard M. Daley in 1989, Bart began his public service as Director of the Advisory Council on Asian Affairs, where he was instrumental in amplifying Asian American voices within city government and ensuring they had a seat at the table during key policy discussions.

Later, he transitioned to the Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) program, where he served as an Area Coordinator for 15 years until his retirement in 2022. In this role, Bart became a vital connector between local communities and the police, working to build trust, promote safety, and address neighborhood concerns through dialogue and collaboration. His efforts helped bring city services directly to underserved areas, facilitated productive problem-solving forums, and ensured that community issues were acknowledged and acted upon at the city level.

Bart's impact extends well beyond government. He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors at the Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA), where he continues to advocate for immigrant and refugee communities. He also applies his creativity as Chief Marketing Officer and Producer at Zatori Films, a company that tells culturally rich stories and promotes Asian American representation in media.

Whether behind the scenes in City Hall or out in the neighborhood, Bart Moy has spent his career building bridges, elevating voices, and making Chicago a more inclusive, connected city for all.
