Ben Nishimura is the president of the Japanese American Citizen’s League (JACL) Chicago Chapter. He enjoys working alongside his fellow board members to give back to a community that has given him so much in recent years. Ben particularly enjoys his involvement with JACL Chicago’s youth programming. Utilizing his professional artist background, he finds ways to make marketing materials more engaging to promote his favorite youth program: The Kansha Project. He serves as co-chair on the Kansha Alumni Board’s communications/outreach committee and is an organizer for one of JACL Chicago’s sister organizations: Next Generation Nikkei.

In his free time, Ben likes to draw, spend time with family/friends, listen to music, and hang out with his pet frog Pudge.
