Charles Wong is the proud owner of Umamicue, a Texas-style BBQ restaurant that has quickly become a local favorite. Born and raised in Chicago, Charles brings a unique blend of financial acumen and culinary passion to his business. A graduate of DePaul University with a degree in finance, Charles spent 12 years in the finance industry before making a bold career shift into the food service world. His decision to open Umamicue reflects his commitment to creating memorable dining experiences and sharing his love for great food with his community. Through Umamicue, Charles blends the rich flavors of Texas BBQ with the spirit of innovation, establishing himself as a prominent figure in Chicago’s culinary scene.
