Chettha Saetia
Director of the Economic Development Center
Chinese Mutual Aid Association
Chettha Saetia is a powerhouse in entrepreneurship and economic development, blending big-picture vision with hands-on experience to spark growth where it’s needed most. With over 20 years of trailblazing under his belt, he's made a name for himself as a champion for innovation, small business success, and community empowerment.
As Director of the Economic Development Center at the Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA), Chettha has turned the center into one of Illinois' go-to resources for immigrant- and minority-owned small businesses. Under his leadership, the center has expanded its impact by launching key initiatives like the SBDC, NBDC, APEX Accelerator, Cook County Source BSO, and the National ACE (MBDA) Capital Readiness Program. Not stopping there, he spearheaded the country’s first AI All-Inclusive Language Accelerator—breaking down language barriers so entrepreneurs from all backgrounds can thrive in the world of business.
Chettha’s passion for entrepreneurship started back in 1998 when he founded McKlein Company LLC, a luxury luggage and leather goods brand that took the global stage by storm. With international patents, prestigious industry awards like the CES Innovation Award, and a legacy of quality and innovation, he built McKlein into a family-run, woman- and minority-owned business that continues to grow.
He’s also worn the hat of Thai-U.S. Trade Ambassador, helping Thai businesses break into the American market, and today, he serves as a national coach for the National ACE accelerator—mentoring entrepreneurs across the country on their paths to success.
Fluent in both Thai and English, Chettha brings deep expertise in international trade, economic development, product strategy, and inclusive entrepreneurship. His mission? To build bridges to opportunity, and make sure that every aspiring business owner—no matter their background—has a real shot at success.
