DR. DENNY LAU
Lau Medical & Northwestern Medicine
Dr. Denny Lau is a board certified family physician who was trained at Northwestern. He is currently a faculty attending at Northwestern Department of Family and Community Medicine. He grew up in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood and is fluent in Cantonese. He believes in forming a lifelong relationship with his patients by delivering personalized care with a focus on preventative medicine.
As a fourth generation doctor, Dr. Lau came to medicine at an early age working at his grandfather’s clinic. He developed a strong interest in learning about the management of chronic diseases and ways to prevent them. His belief in an integrative approach to treating illnesses led him to pursue a career in medicine. Prior to medical school at Midwestern University, he attained a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and received the Kenneth A. Suarez Research Day award for his research on the antimicrobial effects of medicinal plants.
Dr. Lau currently resides in Chicago with his wife and two children. He is an active member of his community and serves on the board of the Chinese Mutual Aid Association. When not at work, Dr. Lau enjoys discovering new neighborhood restaurants, traveling, and spending time with his family.
