EMMA MACDONALD

Manager of Youth Department

A graduate of Grinnell College and a Minnesota native, Emma has over nine years of experience working with young people. As CMAA's Youth Department Manager, Emma oversees and develops after-school programming for K-8th grade students, mentoring programs, tutoring, and family literacy programming. Emma joined CMAA after spending five years working at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, where she supervised the post-match experience and case management for all Community-Based mentors, mentees, and families.

 

Emma believes deeply in creating opportunities for youth to share power, building community, and the transformative learning that takes place in mentorship. She aims to grow and strengthen CMAA's youth programs to serve the needs of young people and their families.

FUN FACT | Emma lives with a retired racing greyhound named Louise. Louise was retired after placing last in all of her eight races, and now spends her days napping in the sun!
