Free Contextualized Healthcare Literacy Education

Free Contextualized Healthcare Literacy Education - Elgin

Employment Program

Funded by the Community Development Block Program (CDBG), United Way of Metropolitan Chicago (UWMC), Wintrust, and American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation.

 

CMAA career counselors provide free one-on-one consultation to job-seeking individuals. They thoroughly assess each individual's background and give them appropriate guidance in order to match them with employment opportunities.

Through Chinese Mutual Aid Association’s Healthcare Employment Preparation Program, CMAA offers contextualized healthcare literacy courses and holistic case management to program participants. The class is for adult learners interested in pursuing a career in healthcare; the class focuses on strengthening participants’ employability skills, English reading and writing skills, and prepare students to enter a career within the healthcare industry or pursue further educational opportunities.

Funded by the Illinois Community College Board.

Through our Healthcare Employment Preparation Program, Chinese Mutual Aid Association offers healthcare literacy courses and holistic case management to program participants. The class is for adult learners interested in pursuing a career in healthcare; the class focuses on strengthening participants’ employability skills, English reading and writing skills, and preparing students to enter a career within the healthcare industry or pursue further educational opportunities. Students will receive exposure to healthcare industry professions and earn an Adult/Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certification from the American Red Cross.
