What We Do

Chinese Mutual Aid Association’s Citizenship and Immigration Program supports immigrants, migrants, and refugees on their journey to secure their immigration status and pursue US Citizenship. Recognizing that income, English language, and education barriers can hinder access to citizenship, CMAA removes these obstacles by offering free and low-cost services education and case management services. The program serves diverse communities, including individuals from China, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mexico, Vietnam, and more.

Free Citizenship Education

CMAA provides free citizenship preparation classes to support individuals on their path to naturalization. Lessons cover U.S. history, government, and civics while also strengthening English skills needed for the interview.

Free Citizenship Education

Funded by the New Americans Initiative, CMAA offers free citizenship education for individuals preparing for the US naturalization interview. Classes provide lessons on US history and government to prepare immigrants for the citizenship civics test, while their improving English language skills for the interview.

Free Citizenship Classes are available at our Uptown and West Ridge offices.

Notice: Beginning in December, CMAA programs will operate from temporary offices at 1112 W. Argyle St. and 4853 N. Broadway, and our permanent West Ridge Office (2424 W. Peterson Ave.).
