What do you know about Dia de los Muertos? Learn from CMAA Elgin.

Members of Chinese Mutual Aid Association's Elgin office along with the Elgin Police Department and other local organizations (ELLAS - Elgin Latino Leadership Alliance for Seniors, Oak St. Health, Gail Borden Library, Country Financial, Senior Services Associates) celebrated a Multigenerational Event on November 4th.

"Dia de los Muertos: A Celebration of Life" was an exciting event for the Latino and Multilingual senior population in Elgin - an opportunity to celebrate and learn about the cultural tradition of Dia de los Muertos.

Held at the Heritage Ballroom in The Centre of Elgin, many community partners attended to share resources including CMAA Manager of Elgin Initiatives Ket Hereña, ESL Coordinator of Elgin, Udon Thao and Transition Specialist Greg Freedman.

There was food, music, dancing, arts & craft, dress like your abuelito(a) contest, and a pumpkin decorating contest.
